Diversifying! Taking lessons on Mike McLaughlin's reining stallion, Smart War O'Lena
Hyperion Steel. Rescued TB mare. Her friends call her the flying red mare. Little did we know!! Joanna loved her, spent years working with her and now has a 15.2 hand mare who jumps over 4ft and can do a stretchy circle to die for. And best of all produced Reigning Dawn.
Emulation "Emmi"
In Loving Memory
Joanna's riding career started at the age of 2 with mom and her horse Spanky. Then came Judy a Shetland pony she begged for until Dad gave in, Riddle who threw her into a rail, Doc who bucked her so high in the air the audience at the show went breathless and then came Emmi. He was a Christmas present that she had no hope of getting. Together they learned to jump. He knew how to do everything else! Steel was added to her herd and then she bred for Dawn. She has had to train her own horses, has learned many things the hard way but now all the horses at Holy Cow! Ridge have the benefit of her patience, instincts and love of horses.
Her riding students benefit from lessons she has learned from great clinicians like Greg Best, David O'Connor, Lynn Coates-Holmes, Cathy Weichoff, many pony club instructors and dressage instructors, Kim Kriekhaus and Liz Hotchkiss.
Four years on the Truman State Equestrian Team has added to her knowledge base and skill level in the Hunt seat Equitation ring. After graduation she hopes to have a horse related job, train horses and begin moving up the eventing competition ladder.
Roll the Dice "Reno". Soon to join her herd on Holy Cow! Ridge. Another horse who has greatly benefited from Jo's love, kindness and patience.
Her first pony club rally was Quiz Rally(KnowDown at the time). Here began her love affair with Horse Management and Quiz competions. Inquiring and the appeals process are favorite parts of Quiz. Are you going to be a lawyer? asks many appeals judges.
High Knowtorioty "Bay" a HolyCow! horse started by Joanna, now jumping 4' and a packer at lower levels.
