In the middle of the US, in the middle of Missouri, we found our farm. At the first glance my husband exclaimed "Holy Cow!" and that was that as they say. Our American breed sporthorses thrive on the hills and hollows of Holy Cow! Ridge.
"Holy Cow! Look at that horse!" is our motto!
And our horses live up to it!  Out in the pastures and fields 24/7 they live the dream life of a  horse, running free over the hills, good grass, health care, people who spoil them and teach them to be good equine citizens as soon as they stand.
We train them ourselves, trail ride them and go to as many local shows as we can.  With a Holy Cow! horse you get more than a talented, well-mannered horse; you get a fantastic partner who can think for himself and knows there are no boogie men under the umbrella.

Susan back in the day and Northern Hill "Casey". Amateur Owner hunter.
Mecklenburg Hounds Outside course Charlotte, NC.
Below, formal hunt with Mecklenberg Hounds Hunt Club. Casey did NOT like hunting.
Sweet Tee Jeb, our first foal, starts under saddle. Joanna prefers to start everything bareback.
Training comes in many guises,  Jeb and Emmi with HC and Joanna up are entered in a local  parade.. Jeb was very green but did  great. He and HC won the mounted division-HC was a circuit rider. Jo and Emmi kept them company. Jo of course is an English  hunt rider or a Pony Club member in formal attire!
Joanna does most of the mounted training. She shows everything. And boy does she show them!
Is everybody listening?
Training starts early.
Bay loves his umbrella!

lOur backgrounds are varied.  HC grew up in this area herding cattle from horseback at a very early age.   Susan learned to ride from a well known Hunt Seat instructor in N.Carolina.  She showed 'A' rated A/O and rode with the Mecklenburg Hounds Hunt Club. Joanna started riding at the age of two.  She has earned her US Pony Club HB.  Currently, she is a senior at Truman State University majoring in AG Business with an Emphasis in Equine.  She rides on The Truman Equestrian team in the Open Division.
We all ride to train, with Joanna  riding to show.
